Once the theme of the collection was decided: the Sky, the first thing was to look for references that could serve as inspiration. These could be antennas, kite games, airplanes, parachutes, flying Chinese lanterns, tall buildings, astronauts, space rockets... and Birds, Clouds, and Space, which ended up being the three families that give rise to the designs.
I gathered illustrations, fun and curious images (such as the Astro Globe Torica globe from the 60's), paintings featuring clouds and storms (Van Gogh, Monet), paintings with birds (Bosch), photos of birds (with amazing colors and plumage):

(I found most of the images via Pinterest. Despite my research, I couldn't discover the authorship of several of them. If you identify any and know who created them, please contact me! That way, I can give credit to the author, and more people can discover their work.)
There were many tests, sketches, and different options until I finally decided which garments would be part of the collection.
My favorites were these five:

The labels are an opportunity to share a bit more about the design of the garments.
In this collection, there are three different labels, personalized by family. Each one is a collage that references a movie related to the theme: Hitchcock and "The Birds"; Mary Poppins and the clouds; R2D2 and C3PO, and the Space.

Until the collection has been ready to show it to you, it has gone through many different phases: first drawings, sketches of idea, pattern design, fabric samples (and some discards that were left along the way), arment construction, miniature set designs, photo shoots, label design... And the enthusiasm and skill of all the people involved who made it possible :)
