collection ALICANTE
(SS17_SpringSummer 2017)
This is the brand's first summer collection, inspired by the memories I hold of my childhood summers.
There are three main themes that inspire the designs and prints: Terraces, Buoys, and Seaweed.
Each theme is a little piece of "landscape":
-The terraces were always present. From the beach you could see a beehive of terraces, and from them you could see the sea, like from a ship.
-The buoys are related to the breakwater, which seemed like an extension of the tower where we spent our summers, or its reflection in stone, going into the water.
I spent hours on the breakwater fishing, jumping from the edge, or searching for crabs, until I knew every rock by heart.
-The seaweed is for the sea, the great protagonist. It was where we spent the whole morning with floaties, inflatable mattresses, snorkeling goggles, the bucket and shovel (no accessory was missing).
In the afternoons, it served as the backdrop for games in the park: tag, the handkerchief game, bikes, splashing water from the fountain, giving ourselves a manicure with geranium petals, or crushing them in water to make 'colorful potions.'
And at night it was very exciting when "the parents let us take a bath"!

Yellow color accompanies the entire collection (I like to think it represents the sun). The patterns feature yellow elements. It is the chosen color for the inner lining of the garments and pockets, and it serves as the background in the photoshoot: a large yellow rectangle.
In the making of the garments, there is also a lot of childhood memories: simple and comfortable cuts, pockets, "breezy" dresses, tied shoulder straps, and jumpsuits.
The labels have personalized designs that indicate the theme that inspired the garments (Terraces, Buoys or Seaweed).
Every detail is important.
